The Blue Star Mothers of America are mothers who now have, or have had, children serving in the military. We are a non-profit (501C3) service organization supporting each other and our children while promoting patriotism. Our Chapter started in February of 2006 by two mothers Kory Joyce, (bottom right) and Donna Dickinson (top left) who felt the need to help other mothers in the county; this initiated our Southern New Jersey Chapter. Kory and Donna just wanted to teach other mothers how to send supplies and communications to their sons, the type of things they can and should send, and the best way to do it. They found out the hard way and kind of tripped over themselves looking for the best way to do everything via the internet. They wanted to share what they learned with other mothers who were in the same position.
The group now consists of 22 mothers, wives, aunts etc. who have relatives serving in the military. We are local MOMS that need a place to come to for support for their sons or daughters. Our MISSION is to gather supplies and other items for troops overseas and supply them packages during their service time. We have enjoyed making our own Camouflage Christmas Stocking and No-Sew lap blankets.
If you are interested in joining our NJ organization or would like more information about our next meeting, please contact an SNJ2 Officer or visit our Join Us page.
This Organization has dissolved! We have enjoyed supporting the troops and appreciate all the help from other organizations and from everyone that helped by sending in supplies. Your efforts made our cause worth while.
